Its hard to take the "path of descent" like Jesus did when we live in such a consumeristic society here in America. But that's where creative people, like Blake Mycoskie, come in. Check out this video to see his shoe business he started.
We live in America, we're going to consume...but why not be aware of what you're consuming? Why not invest, perhaps, instead of consume?

Sidenote: when asked how he would measure success, Mycoskie answered, "Success to me is having the ability to need less to be happy..."
